The question every dictating radiologist has is: was I understood correctly? The live transcript answers it before the recording ends. Your words appear on screen as you speak; if a term is misheard you notice straight away.
How it works
When recording starts, your voice is transcribed in real time and flows in the recording panel. When you stop, that text is worked into your template and the report is created. The live transcript is not an extra step, just the visible side of the same dictation flow.
When it helps
- Long findings: follow what you have said while listing several findings.
- Unusual terms: see at once whether a rare anatomical term was understood.
- Noisy rooms: know whether your voice is coming through clearly in a busy reading room.
If a term keeps coming out wrong, add a rule in the rules engine and it will be written your way in every report.
What if the connection drops?
The live transcript streams over the internet. If the connection drops for a moment, your recording does not stop: Raporio keeps recording and creates the text from the whole recording when you stop. A short notice tells you so; nothing is lost.
Turning it on or off
You switch the live transcript on or off with the Live Speech switch in the recording panel. With it off, dictation works the same way and the text is created when you stop. Some radiologists who say short findings prefer less movement on screen.
Frequently asked questions
Does the live transcript change the report?
No. It only shows what you said; the report is created from your template when you stop recording.
Will I lose my recording if the internet drops?
No. Recording continues and the text is created from your audio at the end.
Can I turn the live transcript off?
Yes, with the Live Speech switch in the recording panel; dictation still works.
Try it with your own template
Say your findings and Raporio fills in your template. Nothing to install, it runs in the browser.
