Dictate

Most of a radiology report is the same every day: normal findings, the same sentences, the same headings. The real work is getting what you see on the images into the report accurately and quickly. Raporio is built around that idea: you only say the finding, Raporio fills in your own normal template, keeps the normal sentences and changes only the sentence your finding is about.

How is it different from classic dictation?

Classic speech recognition turns every word you say into text. You read the whole report aloud, say the punctuation and then fix the text by hand. Dictation works like a typewriter.

AI-assisted reporting works like an assistant. The structure of the report is already in your template. You only say what is different, for example "12 mm cyst in the liver". Raporio puts that sentence in the right place in your template, in your own style.

Step by step: how a report is made

  1. 1Pick a template. CT, MRI, ultrasound or plain film: you use your own normal report templates.
  2. 2Start recording. With the button on screen, the F2 shortcut or the button on your USB dictation microphone.
  3. 3Say the finding. In your own words, without building full sentences: "8 mm stone in the lower pole of the right kidney, no hydronephrosis".
  4. 4Raporio drafts the report. Your speech is transcribed and the matching sentence in your template is updated in proper radiology language.
  5. 5Check and copy. Changed sentences are highlighted; copy with one key and paste into your PACS or RIS.

You stay in control of the report

With AI in the loop, the key question is: what changed? That is why Raporio highlights every sentence that differs from your template. You do not reread the whole report, only the highlighted part. More on this in highlighting changes.

Left and right, units and numbers are the most critical parts of a report. Raporio handles them with care, but the radiologist always signs off.

Tools that adapt to you

  • Rules engine: personal rules such as "write fatty liver instead of hepatic steatosis", applied to every report.
  • Live transcript: see the text appear while you speak.
  • Ultrasound mode: an assistant types short codes and the report comes out without typos.
  • Hands-free: F2, F3 and F4 shortcuts, foot pedals and Philips SpeechMike buttons.

Nothing to install

Raporio runs in the browser; there is no software to install. Connections are encrypted with HTTPS and audio recordings are not stored on Raporio's servers. For hospitals and practices there is a pilot process and team licences.
