CHEST CT

Mediastinal structures and heart size are normal.

Both lungs are normally aerated.

No pleural effusion.

IMPRESSION: Normal chest CT.

Every Raporio report starts from a template. A template is your normal report for that examination: headings, the order of organs and the usual sentences. When you dictate, Raporio takes this template as the base and changes only the sentence your finding is about. The better the template, the more the report sounds like you.

What makes a good template

  • Clear headings: sections such as TECHNIQUE, FINDINGS, IMPRESSION.
  • One sentence per organ: each organ's normal state in its own sentence, so a finding changes only that sentence.
  • Your style: the phrases you use every day; Raporio keeps that language.
  • Consistent order: so clinicians always find information in the same place.
Example: from a head CT template

TECHNIQUE: Non-contrast CT of the head.

FINDINGS:

Normal brain parenchymal density; no acute ischaemia, haemorrhage or mass.

The ventricles and sulci are of normal size for age.

IMPRESSION: Normal non-contrast head CT.

Creating and editing templates

  1. 1Choose New Template in the template list on the left of the report screen.
  2. 2Give it a name and a category (CT, MRI, US and so on).
  3. 3Paste or type your normal report and save.

Choosing from the template list and adding a new template.

Keep template names short and distinct ("Knee MRI", "CT abdomen pelvis") so you find them quickly.

Templates in any language

Write the template in the language you report in; the report is produced in that language. Many radiologists start by pasting a normal report they already use and refining it over the first days.

Templates and rules together

The template sets the skeleton of the report, rules set your word choices. Together they make both structure and language yours. Ultrasound templates can also be turned into a short-code checklist in ultrasound mode.

Frequently asked questions

How many templates can I create?

It depends on your plan; most radiologists start with one template per examination type.

Can I edit templates later?

Yes. Templates are yours and can be changed at any time.

Can templates be in different languages?

Yes. The report is created in the language the template is written in.
